It’s 2019

I haven’t particularly felt the need to be keeping a journal of all my updates but I have been updating this site off and on over the past year.

Several months ago I finished my monumental mapping project of putting the world together but have since run into much difficulty in translating it to something that is both small enough to be uploaded and readable enough to be of use to anyone but me. It’s where the bulk of my energies have been going and it’s been draining…visual media is not my strong suit.

So that is my goal for 2019 to get these maps into something more manageable and get them uploaded here.

April!

Big content update today, most notably magic items and equipment got it’s own section.  I’ve cleaned up a lot of stubs that have existed as well even if it is just to add a sentence or two an some links.  Progress on the site was delayed by a vacation to Hawai’i and a kitten!

My ideal schedule will be to do minor updates on a weekly basis with a large content dump/editing update once a month.

Soooo…Pathfinder 2.0 was announced and elucidated upon since my last update.  I’m not sure how I feel about this.  Certainly there are problems inherent with the gameplay mechanics of…really any tabletop game, so I applaud efforts to streamline anything there.  I choose to reserve judgment until I get some of the real details in front of me, I just hope there’s a decent conversion formula, or it’s even compatible with the current game content…means less work for me.

Anywhere here is kitten doing her best “most interesting man in the world” impression

March Update

Progress continues apace on translating my ramshackle notes into something remotely suitable for consumption.  For the moment my work is focused on the races that are core to Zenith and the places from which they hail.  I always knew this task would be monumental for a single person to tackle, but it’s only come into painfully clear focus in the last few weeks as I commit more ideas into permanent form.

The lack of visual media is becoming more noticeable as well.  I hope to get some concept art up sometime in the near future and if I’m truly desperate I’ll post my rough sketch maps of the various countries that I’ve mentioned.

Part 2 of The Confession of Errol Warner is up.  This side story is my first attempt at writing in first person, and it’s proving more challenging than I had originally thought.  But the perspective works well with the narrative I’m going for so I am satisfied.

Christening update – First post!

Am still in the process of moving everything in.  My brother in law warned me that trying to set something like this up would be the hardest I’ve ever worked in my life.  He was not wrong.

Anyway.  Welcome to my world-building and role-playing game website.  I apologize for this format of writing is not something I’m entirely used to.  And frankly for all I know my voice is simply being cast into the void.  But if you’re here, reading this, then thank you and I hope you enjoy what you find.

This site is my earnest attempt to turn a life-long passion into something greater.  A career?  Perhaps…once I figure out how to monetize it.  But for now it’s more a monument to myself.  A pure vanity project that may some day also serve as my curriculum vitae.  Everything you see posted here is my own idea, occasionally tempered with the help of my own players or is clearly otherwise denoted.  Some of the language you may recognize as lifted from various source books, I try to stay true to the linguistic tone set out by the published material.

My projects at the moment: Maps and other visuals.  So far I have no problem with the written elements of this site.  I am working on making some presentable visuals to go along with it.  Now to simply combat my own perfectionism.
