“Solana”, Ivory Songblade of Verana #12 of 30

Lore: Modeled after the legendary blade of Lucian Brighteyes, Verana’s Herald, these blades were commissioned by Krieg the Muse after the Cult was ousted from Orlind generations ago.  Crafted from lunar-purified astracite and the bones of prominent Muses, the songblades were once powerful weapons used in battle against the Taint and the forces of Evil.  As centuries passed, some of these blades were lost to thievery, foreign crusades, and negligent care.  As the blades became lost, their collective power began to wane.  The few remaining blades in Church care are used in ceremonial purposes and revered as holy relics, though there are some factions within that support a crusade to find every lost songblade and restore them to their former glory.  This blade is named “Solana” for the Muse whose sword-arm the hilt is crafted from.

Appearance: The blade of this artful weapon glitters faintly in the moonlight.  The weapon lacks a cross guard, instead equipped with a single bladed hook meant to catch weapons before striking the hand.  The hilt is carved and polished ivory, crafted from the bone of a fallen Muse and set with a glittering dark blue jewel.

Effects: In addition to being a functional weapon, this extremely graceful blade can protect the wielder from the influence of evil.  Though a potent weapon, it is clearly a mere shadow of its former glory.
